Educational Leadership and Professional Development
Mission:
The Teachers’ Academy supports and guides participants in developing knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary to become effective and caring teachers with the mission to empower their students and transform the classroom into a collaboration space where content comes to life.
Goals:
- Help teachers advance in their profession and gain the confidence necessary to contribute meaningfully and leave a lasting impact on their students.
- Help teachers to increase their skills, knowledge and understanding so they may provide support to their students in meeting their challenging academic demands.
- Help teachers to grasp fully the modern concepts of globalization, information technology and economic advancement so they may prepare their students to develop from critical thinking to creative thinking.
- Train teachers in modern theories and practices in human development and psychology of learning so they may help their students understand the social responsibilities of their field and the social impact of their choices.
- Help teachers to be knowledgeable about modern theories and practices of the methods of teaching so they may help their students master the fundamentals of their subject matter to increase their understanding of the world.
